Journalism

I spent nearly ten years working as a financial journalist and editor in Hong Kong. I ended up focusing on capital markets, in particular on the world-shaking impact of China’s progressive opening up of its economy.

Much of my coverage was produced for GlobalRMB, part of the Euromoney Institutional Investor group. This was an innovative, digital-first trade publication targeting bankers, economists, analysts, and other financial industry executives, aiming to explain and narrate the latest initiative and reforms emanating from Beijing. An initial focus was on the internationalization of China’s currency, the renminbi. But the publication grew to cover a broad range of macro and capital markets topics concerning China and its relationship with global investors.

A sample of my work can be found in the attachment below, a special report I produced towards the end of my time at GlobalRMB.
